November 29-30, 2005: Xavier University, the Tulane/Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research, and the Tulane School of Architecture are hosting a 2 day workshop to provide an opportunity for residents, community-based organizations, environmental experts, architects, urban planners and government officials, to work together on long-term recovery strategies for neighborhoods, communities and the city as a whole.

Presentation at the 2005 AGU (December, 2005) Conference entitled "New Orleans After Hurricane Katrina: an Unnatural Disaster?" Presenters use a numerical model to explore how natural processes, economic development, hazard mitigation measures and policy decisions intertwine to produce long periods of quiescence punctuated by disasters of increasing magnitude.
